Ghaziabad, June 11 (IANS) Three armed robbers Monday looted over Rs.5 lakh from a businessman after shooting and injuring him here, Ghaziabad Police said.
The incident occurred in Mandola locality under Loni police station of Ghaziabad. Satvir Singh’s condition is stated to be critical.
Satvir Singh, a businessman-cum-agriculturist was returning from a bank with Rs.5 lakh when he was intercepted on his way by a gang of three robbers.
Singh resisted their attempt to snatch his bag containing the cash after which he was shot and injured. They sped away on their motorcycle with the bag.
“The robbers had looted Rs.5.lakh cash. The man has been admitted to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital (Delhi) by the police. A case has been registered. The police are trying to nab the robbers,” Circle Officer (Border) Arvind Yadav said.
