Islamabad, July 3 (IANS) One policeman was killed Tuesday when a police van carrying a large amount of money meant to be distributed as salary for jail personnel was attacked in Pakistan’s Faisalabad city, Geo News reported.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Asif Khan along with a few other police personnel were travelling in the van when robbers ambushed them at Jarianwala Road.
A sum of Rs.2.3 million (around $24,300) was looted.
The name of the dead policeman was not clear. At least five passers-by were wounded in the attack.
