Jaipur, July 3 (IANS) In an apparent case of road-rage, a 22-year- old man was burnt to death by two unidentified youths over an altercation with him following a minor accident in this Rajasthan capital, police said Tuesday.
The unidentified youths poured patrol on the victim and set him afire in the city’s Mahesh Nagar area Monday night. The man succumbed to burn injuries at a hospital Tuesday, police said.
According to the police, the deceased, identified as Dipendra Kumar, worked with a travel agency.
“He was returning home after work late Monday night when two youths on a bike hit the auto rickshaw in which he was travelling in. They were trying to overtake the auto rickshaw,” a police officer said.
The officer said that it led to a verbal fight between Dipendra and the duo. “The youths were carrying with them a patrol cane. They poured it on Dipendra and put him afire. The youths then sped away from the spot,” said the officer.
Dipendra was rushed to SMS Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment Tuesday.
“We have launched a search for the two youths,” said the officer.
