Abu Dhabi, July 4 (IANS/WAM) Fighter jets of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain took part in a joint air drill held to enhance military cooperation between the two countries.
The air drill code-named “Falcons Union 1/2012” was held between the Air Force and Air Defence units of the UAE and Bahrain’s Royal Air Force.
The exercise included several joint defence scenarios, practical applications, tactical manoeuvres, joint air operations, command and control and fire support.
The exercise were part of a joint military cooperation to upgrade operational planning capabilities, improve skills and enhance combat readiness.
However, the exercises between the two countries were “not linked to any developments on the regional or international plateaus”, said Deputy Commander of the UAE Air Force and Air Defence Maj. Gen. Pilot Ibrahim Nasser Mohammed Al Alawi.
