Mumbai, Aug 31 (IANS) Ali Abbas Zafar is ready to wield the megaphone for his second directorial venture “Gunday” and says that the period drama, to be shot entirely in Kolkata, is not about romance.
“The film is titled ‘Gunday’ and will be completely shot in Kolkata. It’s a period film set in 1971 to 1988. Both my actors Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh will be seen as Bengalis in the film. It’s not a love triangle and the film will go on floors in December,” Zafar, who debuted with “Mere Brother Ki Dulhan”, told IANS.
When asked will Arjun and Ranveer work on their Bengali diction, Zafar said: “It’s still a choice that I have not yet made. It’s a commercial Hindi film and I want to stick to my subject with honesty. As far as Bengali diction is concerned, we are still finalising that, we don’t want to make it sound funny.”
About the leading lady, he said that it has not been “finalised yet” and added: “Talks are on. Once we finalise it, we will make an official announcement.”
