Chennai, Aug 31 (IANS) Karnataka snatched a five-wicket win over Mumbai to enter the final of the Buchi Babu Trophy All-India cricket tournament here Friday.
Karnataka will meet Kerala, who beat Baroda by 57 runs, in the final.
Chasing Mumbai’s total of 303, Karnataka achieved the target in the 68th over with opener Robin Uthappa (54), skipper Ganesh Satish (83) and CM Gautham (94 not out) doing the bulk of scoring.
Satish and Gautham were involved in a crucial 155-run partnership for the fourth wicket to help Karnataka win the game.
In the other semifinal, a century by Aditya Waghmode (139) and his third-wicket stand of 136 with Abhimanyu Chauhan (75) went in vain as Baroda fell short of Kerala’s total of 401 by 57 runs.
For Kerala off-spinner S Anish took 6/97 while left-arm spinner KR Sreejith came away with 3/114.
The two-day final will commence Sunday at the Guru Nanak college grounds.
