Riga, Oct 31 (IANS/RIA Novosti) A woman in Latvia has won a competition for having the largest pumpkin in her northern European nation after her gourd was found weighing 460 kg, the contest organiser said Tuesday.

Daine Badovska, of Skrunda city which is 130 km from capital city of Riga, had won the same competition last year too.
While the pumpkin which remained at second and third places during this year’s contest for largest pumpkin weighed 117 kg and 110 kg respectively.
The world record for the largest pumpkin was set in September 2012 by Ron Wallace of Greene, Rhode Island, with a monster that weighed 2,009 pounds.
The pumpkin contest is being organised in Latvia for last seven years.
