Mumbai, Oct 31 (IANS) National carrier Air India carried a record 34,911 passengers on a single day Oct 28 on its domestic network, an official said here Wednesday.

This month (till last Sunday), Air India carried over 30,000 passengers in a single day seven times – Oct 18, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28.
Compared to this, last year, it had achieved this benchmark (carrying over 30,000 passengers in a single day) on just 10 occasions.
Last Monday (Oct 29), the carrier achieved a 95 percent seat factor on the domestic sector and 69 percent on the international sectors from New Delhi.
The northern region also notched 90 percent seat occupancy on the domestic sectors and 68 percent in the international sectors.
October also saw Air India’s ‘flying returns’, a frequent flyer programme crossing the one million mark and continuing to grow with 400 new members being added daily.
