New Delhi, Oct 31 (IANS) A Lok Janshakti Party leader escaped unhurt when two motorcycle-borne assailants shot at his car, police said Wednesday.
Gajraj Singh was returning home from his office at South Avenue. The attack took place Monday-Tuesday night at 12.15 a.m. When he was passing through Neb Sarai here. However, the LJP leader escaped unhurt.
“Gajraj Singh, a resident of Khanpur village, claims he has been fighting against unauthorised construction in his neighbourhood and alleges the attack may have been carried out by local builders,” a police officer told IANS.
As Gajraj’s driver was forced to stop the car, the unidentified assailants opened fire and fled from the spot.
Police found a bullet hole on the car’s windshield. A case has been lodged over his complaint at Neb Sarai police station, an official said.
Gajraj had participated in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections earlier this year, but had lost to Bahujan Samaj Party’s Shashi Pal at Khanpur ward.
