Kolkata, Dec 24 (IANS) In the wake of the Delhi gang-rape, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Monday implicitly took a dig at the Congress by asking it to look within instead of criticising others.

“If there is god, then justice will prevail. We condemn the Delhi rape; we condemn the rapes and eve teasing in Bengal. But don’t forget that charity begins at home,” said Banerjee at a function here.
“You teach others? What about you… Should I reveal? If I speak there will processions at Lal Quila (Red Fort). So don’t be vindictive,” she said.
Banerjee’s veiled attack was directed at the Congress, against which she has initiated a tirade following the break up of her Trinamool’s alliance with the Congress.
The West Bengal Congress has been critical of the Banerjee regime citing law and order problems and claiming that crime and atrocities against women in the state has been rising since she came to power.
