Patna, Dec 26 (IANS) Eighteen doctors have been sacked by the Bihar government after they failed to join prison duty, an official said Wednesday.

The 18 physicians and specialist doctors violated their contractual agreement with the government, an official of the home department said.
The doctors were appointed on contract in July-August and expected to join duty in different prisons.
“Most failed to do that. A few joined but remained absent from duty,” an official said. All 54 prisons in Bihar face a shortage of doctors.
