Madrid, July 25 (DPA) Spanish Liga club Villarreal announced Saturday the signing of Brazilian striker Nilmar da Silva from Porto Alegre club Internaional.
It is believed Villarreal paid around 11 million euros ($15.65 million) for the 25-year-old international, which makes him the most expensive signing in the club’s history.
Nilmar has agreed to a five-year contract with Villarreal.
“He is a really good player,” said Villarreal president Fernando Roig late on Friday, “and we hope that he will give us five years of joy.”
