Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 2 (IANS) Renowned playback singer K.J. Yesudas will be conferred the Pragathy Thrimshathy Puraskar for his contribution in the field of music.
The award, instituted by Pragathy Education and Charitable Trust, includes an amount of Rs.1 lakh, statuette and a citation.
Minister K.C. Joseph will present the award to Yesudas Jan 11, during the Valliyad Violin Pragathi Sargotsava closing ceremony.

“Ninnem…” team adopts new marketing techniques
The new generation of filmmakers are adopting new marketing techniques for promoting their films and the makers of “Ninnem Kollum Njanum Chaavum” have also joined the league.
The film’s team was seen distributing merchandise including coffee mugs and t-shirts, to people in a mall. The team also kept fans updated with tidbits from the film’s shooting, through regular posts on micro-blogging site Twitter.
Directed by A.K. Gireesh, the film features Sunny Wayne, Praveen, Sanju, Poojitha, Chinni, Sija Rose, Shani, Sooraj and Rama Krishnan. It is produced by Sandeep Senan and Aneesh M. Thomas under the banner of Urvasi Theatres.

Bhavana to play differently-abled in ‘Yellow’
Actress Bhavana is set to play the role of a differently-abled girl in Rajesh B. Menon’s new movie “Yellow”.
In the film, she plays the role of Aamy, a deaf and dumb girl.
“Yellow”, scripted by Biju Bernad, is aimed at sending a strong message to the audience. With a dash of humour, the film involves a journey of a lorry from Mumbai to Kochi.
Many prominent actors from Malayalam film industry are likely to feature in the movie.
