New Delhi, Jan 2 (IANS) Five men, including a defence ministry staffer and a constable of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, were arrested last Sunday for allegedly molesting a woman and trying to abduct her, police said Wednesday.
The accused — Mahender, 26, Sunil Dahiya, 25, Rajneesh, 28, Gopal, 28, and Vasant, 31 — were arrested last Sunday from northwest Delhi’s Bawana.
A case regarding the incident was registered and the accused were sent to 14 days’ judicial custody Monday by a district court.
Gopal works in the defence ministry while Vasant is a head constable in the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI).
The accused molested the victim in her hut in Bawana last Sunday around 9.45 p.m.
Locals overpowered the accused after Roshni Devi, the victim’s mother-in-law, raised an alarm.
