Mumbai, Jan 7 (IANS) Initiating early preparations for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has convened a meeting of all its delegates Jan 9, a party official said Monday.

“The meeting will be attended by Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde, former union minister Mukul Wasnik, All India Congress Committee in-charge of the state Mohan Prakash, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president Manikrao Thakre, central and state ministers, legislators and parliamentarians from Maharashtra,” the official said.
The official said the leaders will discuss the prevailing political situation in the state and the agenda to be adopted by the state unit ahead of the 2014 elections.
Party leaders will also discuss water shortage in the state and decide on the agenda to tackle the problem, the official said.
