New Delhi, Jan 10 (IANS) It was another sunny and pleasant day in the capital Thursday with the maximum temperature in the city rising to 21.1 degrees Celsius — average for this time of the season. The Met Office has forecast similar weather conditions Friday.
“We are experiencing pleasant weather conditions for the past two days. The day was sunny and clear,” said Simi Singh, a resident of east Delhi.
Although the sight of people basking in the sun replaced the earlier scene of homeless people huddled around fires, cold winds continued to sweep through the capital Thursday.
The minimum temperature in the city settled at 5.8 degrees Celsius — a notch below the seasons’ average.
“The sky will be clear on Friday and the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 21 and 7 degrees, respectively,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
Wednesday’s minimum temperature was 4.4 degrees Celsius and maximum was 20.9 degrees.
