Mumbai, April 15 (IANS) Maharashtra entered the final of the third Hockey India Sub-Junior Women’s National Championship (West Zone) played at Mahindra Stadium here Monday.
In the semifinal, Maharashtra defeated Rajasthan 5-1. Maharashtra scored through Alaknanda (8, 53), Own Goal (47), Aishwarya Chavan (59) and Bhavana Khade (65) while Rachna Challan (22) scored the only goal for Rajasthan.
In the other semifinal, Madhya Pradesh registered a big 12-0 win over Chhattisgarh. Madhya Pradesh, who led 5-0 at half-time, scored through Upasana Singh (16), Jyoti Pal (19, 69), Preet Dubey (24, 26), Akanksha Parmar (29, 34, 41), Karishma Yadav (33), Suman Devi (38), Brajnandini Dhuriya (61) and Rakhi Prajapati (64).
Maharashtra will now take on Madhya Pradesh in the final Tuesday.
Semifinal results: Madhya Pradesh 12 (Upasana Singh 16, Jyoti Pal 19, 69, Preet Dubey 24, 26, Akanksha Parmar 29, 34, 41, Karishma Yadav 33, Suman Devi 38, Brajnandini Dhuriya 61 and Rakhi Prajapati 64) beat Chhattisgarh 0.
Maharashtra 5 (Alaknanda Bagadi 8, 53, Own Goal 47, Aishwarya Chavan 59 and Bhavana Khade 65) beat Rajasthan 1 (Rachna Challan 22).
