If you haven’t heard of Google Glass yet, you may have been living under the proverbial Internet rock! It is one of the latest innovations being worked on by the technology giant. For many of us, this could very well be one of the most exciting things taking place in the technology industry.
First, for those of you who have no idea what I am talking about, here is a brief overview of Google Glass. It is basically a wearable computer that has a head mounted display, just like we have been watching on futuristic movies in cinema for years (think Star Trek). To make things even cooler, it is operated by voice commands!
It is a long way from being available in stores, however Google has finally let developers get their hands on the device. Like all new technology these days, developers are crucial to the success of new innovations – if people have no apps or software to make use of the technology, it will fizzle out fast.
The first apps for Google Glass are from some of the biggest names in the online industry. Twitter has one, for example. On Facebook you can write posts and share pictures, while CNN has one that sends users news alerts.
Google is calling these apps Glassware.
