Mumbai, July 31 (Inditop.com) Strong corporate earnings prompted investors to come back to the buying table at Indian equities markets Friday as a key index closed at the highest level since June 17, 2008.
It ended trade 2.12 percent up from its last closing figure.
The 30-scrip benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, which opened higher at 15,449.47 points, shut shop at 15,694 points (provisional) – 306.04 points or 1.99 percent higher than Thursday’s closing figure.
Similarly, the S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) closed in the positive terrain, 1.7 percent up at 4,649.15 points.
Broader, market indices also ended in the green with the BSE midcap index ending 1.15 percent higher, while the BSE smallcap index gained 0.06 percent.
