Chennai, Aug 1 (Inditop.com) Gaurav Dalal of Red Rooster Racing comfortably won the first race in the Formula Rolon Chevrolet class from a depleted field in the third round of the JK Tyre National Racing championship, here Saturday.
With title contenders Ashwin Sundar and Aditya Patel skipping the round due to their international commitments, Dalal had the field for himself and he won from Karthik Shankar (Team NK Speed) and private entry Saran Vikram.
Earlier, Bangalore’s Akhil Devarag of Team Ram’s Racing scored his maiden win in the Formula Hyundai Endurance race ahead of championship leader Sudanand Rajan (Wallace Sports) by completing 22 laps in a timing of 45 minutes, 06:312 seconds.
The third place was taken by Akhil’s team mate and Chennai’s M.Mohit who completed 21 laps in 46:18:573 minutes.
Bangalore’s Sudarshana Rao of Team TVS Girling won the honours in the Formula LGB Swift class to consolidate his championship lead. Starting from pole position, Sudarshana made a good start to go into the lead and retained it till the end to wrap up yet another win in the championship.
Finishing in second place after a very close duel with his team mate was Ajay Kini from Chennai (Wallace Sports) ahead of Coimbatore racer Prithveen Rajan.
The Super Saloon class saw the duo from Rad Racing, veteran Radha Selvarajan and Sailesh Bolisetti from Vizag, completing a 1-2 finish with ease while another veteran B Vijayakumar (Prime Racing) finished third.
