New Delhi, June 29 (IANS) Rains brought relief from humidity and heat to people in Delhi and NCR Saturday evening, a day which had turned muggy during the afternoon. Sunday is also likely to be a rainy day.
The maximum temperature was recorded four notches above average at 39.8 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature settled one notch above average at 28.5 degrees Celsius. Humidity wavered between a high and low of 83 and 40 percent.
The rains did not cause any traffic snarls in the capital, a Delhi Traffic Police official said.
Despite the monsoon’s arriving a fortnight before its scheduled date of June 29, the capital had not seen rains for the last 15 days.
Sunday is likely to be cloudy with showers and the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 37 and 28 degrees Celsius, said an official of India Meteorological Department.
