New Delhi, July 30 (IANS) With the view to protect consumers’ interests, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) Tuesday issued the draft amendments for strengthening the Telecom Consumers Complaint Redressal Regulations.
As the TRAI has learnt that one of the key concerns of the customers was lack of awareness of the appellate body and the procedure of appeal, the draft regulations have a provision for moving the appellate authority at the consumer care number of the complaint centre.
Apart from communicating the details of the action taken on the complaint to the consumer, the procedure for moving the appellate authority is also communicated to the consumer.
“Upon disposal of the appeal by the appellate authority, the details to be communicated to the appellant through SMS or e-mail or post,” a TRAI release said.
