New Delhi, July 31 (IANS) Delhi University Wednesday directed its colleges to fill all the vacant reserved category seats for undergraduate courses, an official statement from the varsity said.
“It has been brought to the notice of the university that there are some seats still available for candidates from the reserved categories in undergraduate courses in some college of the university,” the statement said.
The colleges have been directed to display the number of vacant seats for reserved category students course wise and hold registration for them from Aug 1 to 3.
However, only those students who have “duly filled the forms will be allowed to register themselves”, the university added.
“After registering the candidates, the colleges may admit them based on the merit and the number of seats available in each course,” it said, adding that the admissions may take place between Aug 5 and Aug 7.
According to university officials, if the reserved category seats still remain vacant in scheduled castes (SC) or scheduled tribes (ST) categories then the seats might be interchanged and filled.
The colleges have also been asked to furnish all the details of the admission process to the office of the registrar by Aug 8.
Delhi University released its 10th cut-off list Tuesday. Seats were available in 10 colleges after these were declared closed in the previous list.
The academic session for the university’s four-year undergraduate programme started July 23. Under this programme, students will be required to study 11 foundation courses in the first two years with the main subjects under disciplines I and II, and applied courses.
