Aizawl, Aug 6 (Inditop.com) The Mizoram government has banned chocolates and chocolate products from China claiming these contained harmful ingredients, an official release said here Thursday.
“Some dairy products including chocolates and chocolate products imported from China contain melamine, an industrial chemical, consumption of which is harmful for humans,” said a statement issued by the Mizoram health department.
The statement warned the people not to eat Chinese food products, specially chocolates and chocolate-based products.
The products, the statement said, might cause instant health problems.
“Selling, advertising and marketing the Chinese chocolates and chocolate products are also punishable,” the release added.
