Mumbai, Aug 6 (Inditop.com) Indian equities markets plunged into the red Thursday, with a key index closing trade almost 390 points lower than its previous close.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 15,881.47 points, ended trade at 15,514.14 points (provisional), down 389.69 points or 2.45 percent.
The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), too, shut shop in the red at 4,585.75 points, down 2.31 percent.
Broader market indices also closed in negative terrain with the BSE midcap index ending 2.48 percent down, while the the BSE smallcap index closed 1.28 percent lower.
