New Delhi, Aug 25 (IANS) India’s homegrown social networking site Worldfloat.com expects its user base to reach 30 million by October on the back of increasing popularity in India and other parts of the world. Its backers claim that the growth rate of the Worldfloat.com user base is much higher than that of Facebook.
“Currently, our user base is 21.5 million, and we expect it to reach 30 million by October,” said Worldfloat.com founder Pushkar Mahatta. “We had 10 million users in the first year of launch, while the user base of Facebook was five million in the first year. We hope to keep the momentum going and soon bridge the gap in India,” said Mahatta.
Worldfloat.com, which was launched in June 2012, reached the 10 million user base mark in June. It more than doubled in the past three months.
Mahatta said Worldfloat was gaining popularity across the world due to its added features.
He clamied that Worldfloat was the only website offering scope of earning money while networking online.
“The main reason for Worldfloat’s growth is the hourly jackpot where users can make Rs.6,000 in nine hours after buying a Rs.100 ticket. Worldfloat is the only money-making social networking website in the world,” he said.
Mahatta said soon users would be able to read city-wise news on the Worldfloat site.
“We expect that the news will give a big boost to our user base. This will be another unique feature for Worldfloat users,” he said.
He pointed out that there are nearly 43,000 cities in the world and Worldfloat would be covering news from all these cities from top news sources.
“Users of Worldfloat will get to read from top news sources from all the cities of the world. People will be able to react and comment on this city-based news in the same way as people react to on television channels and at events,” Mahatta added.
