Islamabad, Sep 1 (IANS) Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan has strongly opposed military operation in Pakistan’s port city of Karachi.

“Peace should be restored in the country’s commercial capital by using police”, reported Online news agency citing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief.
Khan said 150,000 military personnel were fighting terrorists in the tribal areas and Balochistan and it would be inappropriate to engage the military in Karachi now.
He suggested de-politicising the police to maintain peace in Karachi.
