Tehran, Sep 2 (IANS) Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Sartaj Aziz, advisor to Pakistan’s prime minister for foreign and security affairs, discussed the current developments in Syria over phone Monday.

During the conversation, the two sides also reviewed mutual relations and the latest regional developments, mainly those in the Islamic world, IRNA reported.
Zarif strongly condemned the use of chemical weapons in Syria and underlined that the crisis should be resolved through diplomacy.
Any military intervention makes the case more complicated and brings about more instability, terrorism and extremism to the region, he said, lambasting any probable military action against the Syrian nation and the government.
The two sides underlined the need to continue dialogue to resolve the crisis.
