Lusaka (Zambia), Sep 3 (IANS) English Premier League side Southampton has loaned Zambian striker Emmanuel Mayuka to French club FC Sochaux for one year.
Nir Karin, the player’s agent, confirmed the development and added that he was happy for the move as it would give the player more playing time, reports Xinhua.
“Mayuka is happy at Southampton and they like him a lot but it is better for him to have more game-time at this point,” Karin was quoted as saying Tuesday.
Mayuka’s loan will run up to the end of the season, he added.
Southampton decided to loan the Zambian international to the French side following a three-year deal with AS Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo.
The 22-year-old Zambianr, who joined Southampton from Swiss side Young Boys, scored his first competitive goal for the Saints last Tuesday in the Carling Cup.
