Manchester, Sep 9 (IANS) Australian captain Michael Clarke led from the front as Australia beat England by 88 runs in the second ODI at Old Trafford here.

The victory Sunday gave Australia a 1-0 lead in the five-match series after game one in Leeds was washed out, reports Xinhua.
Clarke scored a magnificent 105 runs and was ably supported by his deputy George Bailey (82 from 67 balls) as the tourists posted 315 for seven after losing the toss.
England were bowled out for 227 with wicketkeeper Jos Buttler offering most resistance with 75 from 65 balls.
“(It was a) pretty good wicket batting first and our bowlers executed really well. We are off to a great start, which is really pleasing,” Clarke said.
“We’ve got three more really important games and hopefully we can continue to perform the way we have.”
“We won’t take anything for granted but I think, at the end of the day, it’s nice to have won a game against England on this tour,” he added.
