Chandigarh, Sep 20 (IANS) Three people, including a father-son duo, were arrested following the recovery of psychotropic drugs worth Rs.7 crore from warehouses in Punjab’s Ludhiana city, police officials said Friday.

The drugs, including nearly 1.4 crore sedative pills and capsules, 11,500 injections and nearly 1,700 cough syrups, were recovered Wednesday night from three warehouses in the transport area in Ludhiana, 110 km from here. The warehouses belong to three private transport companies.
Ludhiana Police Commissioner Paramjit Singh Gill claimed that the drugs haul was the biggest haul of psychotropic drugs made by police.
Those booked include Pawan Goyal, his son Nitin Goyal and Deepak.
Punjab has a high incidence of drugs abuse, especially among youth.
