Lucknow, Jan 29 (Inditop) The wife of a sales tax deputy commissioner in Uttar Pradesh has shot herself dead with the licensed revolver of her husband, the police said Thursday.
“Uma Goel, wife of Aadesh Goel, posted in the sales tax department in Kanpur, was today (Thursday) found dead inside the bathroom of her residence in Shastri Nagar area of Meerut,” deputy superintendent of police Vishal Vikram Singh told Inditop on phone.
Police have recovered a suicide note, in which Uma, 41, wrote she was taking the extreme step due to “family tension”, Singh added.
Uma was living in her Shastri Nagar house in Meerut, 400 km from Lucknow, with their two children, a son and a daughter, police said.
Police came to know about the suicide when Uma’s driver informed them that she was neither answering the door bell nor picking up her phone. A police team reached the house and found her lying dead inside the bathroom.
