Kolkata, Sep 30 (IANS) Flaying the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in West Bengal, the BJP Sunday said the state government has failed to fulfill the aspirations of the people.
“People had much expectation from the Trinamool government, but unfortunately those aspirations have remained unfulfilled,” Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh said here.
He also chided the erstwhile Left Front regime for its failure to bring prosperity despite ruling the state for 35 years.
“They had 35 years, which was enough to bring prosperity. But they failed miserably,” said the BJP president.
On the possibility of re-aligning with TMC, Rajnath Singh said: “There is no proposal from the Trinamool in this regard, so the question on keeping our doors open or closed for Mamata does not arise.”
Asserting that BJP would come to power in the next general elections under the leadership of its prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi, party general secretary Varun Gandhi said: “There will neither be Dadagiri nor Didigiri only Modigiri.”
