Riyadh, Oct 9 (IANS) Saudi Arabia Wednesday announced security plan for hajj that will be executed by more than 95,000 police personnel to prevent terror attacks, according to Saudi Press Agency.

Police will use sophisticated techniques, modern equipment and security plan, Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, minister of interior and chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee said, Xinhua reported.
He said all possible security threats need to be taken seriously for the safety of the pilgrims, and that Saudi Arabia witnessed in the recent past a fierce anti-terrorist campaign that did not exclude the holy sites.
He called on all pilgrims to adhere to the performance of rituals and stay away from any distraction that may put them at risk.
“The pilgrimage is not a field for political conflicts and sectarian differences, with taking into consideration of narrow space and congestion of pilgrims, where any kind of unrest could lead to a disaster, the minister warned.
