Moscow, Oct 10 (IANS) Edward Snowden, the former US intelligence service contractor, travels in Russia freely and looks forward to finding a job, his attorney has revealed.
Anatoly Kucherena, who acted as Snowden’s solicitor during the American’s month-long confinement in the transit zone of a Moscow airport, said: “He feels okay, travels and reads.”
The whistleblower Snowden is not working presently, reported Xinhua citing Kucherena.
The former employee of the National Security Agency will make up his mind “shortly”, the lawyer said, adding that Snowden’s savings and donations from supporters allow him to lead “a modest life”.
Snowden faces espionage charges in the US after disclosing a classified intelligence surveillance project code- named PRISM.
Russia granted Snowden asylum Aug 1 amid calls by Washington to return him for a trial. It led to US President Barack Obama cancelling a scheduled bilateral summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in early September.
