Rome, Oct 19 (IANS) AS Roma head coach Rudi Garcia termed his side outstanding and compared it to Michel Platini’s Juventus following their 2-0 win over Napoli at home in the Italian Serie A.
Miralem Pjanic scored twice Friday to help Roma notch up their eighth wins from as many games this season, reports Xinhua.
This win helped the capital side become only the fourth team ever to win the opening eight Serie A games after Juventus in 1930-31, 1985-86 and 2005-06.
“Francesco Totti’s Roma matched Michel Platini’s Juventus under the gaze of Diego Maradona. I am very proud to have contributed to that,” Garcia said.
He moaned over the price Roma had to pay to beat Napoli.
“I am happy with the win, but it was a pyrrhic victory, as we lost Totti and Gervinho. They sustained muscular problems and will require further tests,” he said.
“Anyway, I am happy because we won and in a tough game like this you need to take every chance on set plays,” he said.
