Beijing, Oct 24 (IANS) The Asia-Pacific Amateur Golf Championship will tee off Thursday in eastern China’s Longkou city with defending champion Guan Tianlang aiming to win again this year.

At age 15 years, Guan is the youngest player to make the cut in PGA Tour history and play in 2013 Masters Tournament.
“I heard it’s going to be quite chilly and cold in the morning, but I will just focus on my own game and try to do my best to conquer the golf course, and hopefully I can defend my title,” Guan said.
The Asia-Pacific amateur championship is organised by the Asia Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) and was first played in 2009. It was organised in conjunction with the Masters Tournament and The R&A, organisers of The Open Championship.
The winner of the championship can receive an invitation to the Masters and, along with the runner-up, gains entry to International Final Qualifying for the British Open.
