Rio de Janeiro, Nov 2 (IANS) Corinthians coach Tite hinted he will seek a coaching job in Europe, should the Brazilian outfit not renew his contract next season.
The 52-year-old led Corinthians to the 2012 Copa Libertadores title – South America’s premier club trophy – but has seen his team struggle this year in the Campeonato Brasileiro, reported Xinhua.
“I’m not going to move from one team to another,” Tite told Folha de S.Paulo Friday.
“In Brazil I am committed to only one club, and that’s Corinthians. I am not going to leave or stay based on money.
“You can start planning for next season irrespective of the coach. The club can not be at the mercy of the manager and Corinthians know that. It’s the club that will make the decision. There is a hierarchy in place and I understand that.”
Corinthians are currently 12th in the league standings, eight points clear of the relegation zone with seven games remaining.
