Kolkata, Nov 3 (IANS) After years, Eden Gardens is set to host a Test match before a full house. Only about 1,500 seasoned tickets are yet to be sold for the Nov 6-10 India-West Indies game, which would be the 199th and penultimate Test of cricketing great Sachin Tendulkar’s glittering career.
The local staging unit, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), had put up around 7,500 tickets in the 65,000 capacity iconic ground for public sale through its ticket counters.
“Each ticket is priced Rs.1,500. Already 6,000 tickets have been sold. We hope the remainder would also fly off the counters before the game starts,” CAB joint secretary Subir Ganguly told the media here.
Ganguly said in case any season ticket remains unsold at the start of the match, there would be sale of daily tickets. “This much we are sure, we will have a full house this time, as people are too crazy to attend Tendulkar’s last Test at the Eden,” he said.
