Baghdad, Nov 8 (IANS) At least three people were killed and 10 wounded in twin bomb attacks Friday in Iraq’s capital Baghdad, a police source said.
Two roadside bombs were set off successively near Imam Ali mosque in Safarart district, a Sunni-dominated neighbourhood in western Baghdad, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The attacks targeted worshippers who were leaving Imam Ali mosque after the Friday prayers, the source added without elaborating further.
Iraq is witnessing its worst eruption of violence in recent years. According to the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq, almost 7,000 Iraqis were killed and over 16,000 injured from January to October this year.
