New Delhi, Nov 12 (IANS) India will send 15 tonnes of relief material to the Philippines, where nearly 10,000 people have died after super typhoon Haiyan ravaged the country, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid said Tuesday.

A plane carrying the relief material which includes, tarpaulin sheets, tents, cooked food, biscuits, medicines and milk powder will be leaving for the Philippines Tuesday night, Khurshid told reporters here.
A ship would also be sent later with water treatment equipment, he said.
Super typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines last week. An estimated 10,000 people in the central Philippine province of Leyte might have died.
