New Delhi, Nov 19 (IANS) Greenpeace Tuesday demanded political parties to commit to provide a sustainable solution for the impending electricity crisis in the national capital in their election manifestos.
The organisation demanded political parties must ensure to adopt renewable sources of energy to meet the electricity demand.
“Electricity is a basic necessity, and ensuring 24X7 electricity supply to the entire city must be top priority for the new government,” said Anand Prabu, campaigner, Greenpeace India.
He further said adopting renewable energy will ensure reduced power outages during peak summers, and electricity tariff stabilisation in the long run.
