New Delhi, Dec 18 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Wednesday described the passage of the Lokpal bill in parliament as a “historic and landmark step”.
“It is a historic and landmark step,” he told reporters after the Lok Sabha passed the anti-corruption legislation. The Rajya Sabha had passed it Tuesday.
Earlier, both the prime minister and Congress president Sonia Gandhi described it as a watershed legislation in the government’s fight against corruption.
