Dhaka, Dec 18 (IANS) Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wednesday condemned Pakistan for its reaction to the execution of Jamaat-e-Islami leader and war criminal Abdul Quader Mollah, a media report said.
“By passing the resolution at national assembly, Pakistan has proved that it never accepted the victory of Bangladesh in the Liberation War of 1971, and they still have allies in Bangladesh,” Hasina was quoted as saying by The Daily Star.
The Pakistan national and provincial assemblies Monday adopted resolutions expressing concern over Mollah’s hanging.
Bangladesh’s ministry of foreign affairs Tuesday summoned the Pakistan High Commissioner Mian Afrasiab Mehdi Hashmi Qureshi and lodged a “strong protest” over Islamabad’s move.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan expressed deep grief and concern over the execution of Mollah.
