New York, Dec 26 (IANS) Blame it on “Fifty Shades of Grey” effect. There is a shift in couples’ sex lives the world over as intimate moments are ruling the minds – leading to a hot new sex trend in 2014.
LELO – a leading Swedish lifestyle company that sells upmarket sex toys and massage products – says that following two years of kinky sex, the customers are now buying sex toys that focus less on bondage and novelty but more on intimacy to enhance their daily sex lives.
According to LELO, sales figures show that the Fifty Shades phenomenon has begun to drift to the back of couples’ minds, as ‘kinky’ needs witnessed in 2012 and 2013 are actually subsiding.
What is taking their place is a greater focus on sex toys that bring a longer-term investment in intimacy between partners.
The findings would be available in ‘LELO Global Sex Survey 2014′, out in early January.
“No one can deny the huge impact that `Fifty Shades of Grey’ had on the intimate lifestyle industry, and LELO was one of the global brands to benefit from this shift in attitude through 2012 and 2013,” Steve Thomson, LELO’s global marketing director, was quoted as saying.
“The customers are making longer-term investments that bring more regular pleasure to both partners,” he added.
With the launch of LELO’s new survey in January, the firm hopes to shed more light on the sexual wants, needs and habits of men and women everywhere.
