Srinagar, Dec 29 (IANS) The central government has doubled fund allocation to Rs.424 crore from the previous Rs.212 crore for the health sector in Jammu and Kashmir, Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said Sunday.
“The aim is to strengthen the primary health care base by opening more centres and equipping them with more and more facilities,” Azad said while inspecting construction work on the Mirza Muhammad Afzal Beg hospital in Anantnag town.
Azad asked the executing agencies to complete the work within the stipulated time. He said he has released Rs.4 crore for the purpose.
