New Delhi, Dec 31 (IANS) The eighth edition of World Sufi Spirit Festival (WSSF) will start Feb 17, 2014 in Nagaur and will feature performances by Coke Studio artists Kavita Seth and Javed Bashir, along with various other musicians from across the world.
WSSF will begin at the Ahichhatragarh Fort in Nagaur and will culminate Feb 23, 2014 at the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur.
Both Kavita and Javed are excited to be part of the music gala.
“It feels great to be a part of festival that promotes the rich culture of Sufism. I look forward to collaborating with like-minded artists from across the globe,” Seth, who is known for songs like “Iktara” and “Tum hi ho bandhu”, said in a statement.
Bashir, who has crooned “Mera Yaar” from “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag”, added: “Sufi music speaks of god, love and peace between people. In my experience, I haven’t been able to see the love and respect for music anywhere else other than India.”
“I am looking forward to perform at the World Sufi Spirit Festival and I appreciate the platform that has been created to promote a traditional art,” he added.
