Dubai, Jan 2 (IANS) With the launch of the Doha edition of the Malayala Manorama, Malayalam papers outnumber other dailies in the Gulf nation of Qatar.

The launch of the Kerala-headquartered century-old vernacular daily Wednesday has taken the number of Malayalam newspapers published in Qatar to five, The Peninsula reported Thursday.
The other Malayalam dailies that already have Doha editions are Madhyamam, Chandrika, Thejas and Varthamanam.
The Malayali community forms the majority of the around 500,000-strong Indian expatriate population in Qatar.
There are four Arabic and three English newspapers published in the country.
