New Delhi, Jan 2 (IANS) Jhadu (broom), seen as the symbol of the common man after the unexpectedly spectacular poll performance of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi, is being sold online for Rs.5.
Available on Tradus.com, said to be one of the country’s largest location-based marketplace on mobile, the offer is valid for the first 1,000 orders, and the same will be increased after the promotional stock is over, said a statement.
“This is an attempt to make aam aadmi (common man) join the movement for a corruption-free Delhi and celebrate the birth of a new India,” says Mudit Khosla, CEO, Tradus.com.
“Jhadu has become a symbol of change and honesty, which resonates well with Tradus’ endeavour of bringing nearby sellers that offer honest prices to buyers. We encourage all our patrons to own this ‘jhadu’ at an honest price and celebrate the birth of a corruption-free Delhi,” Khosla said in a statement.
Brooms are otherwise available at Rs.25 to Rs.30 per piece.
