Gurgaon, Jan 31 (IANS) A senior executive in a multinational company (MNC) and his two sons have been booked on charges of the rape and murder of their minor maid, police said Friday.
The maid was found dead in the house of the accused on Wednesday.
The police have also registered a case against some people, including six women activists of “Gharelu Kaamgar Sangathan”, under Sections 147 (rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), 427 (mischief and damaging property) 451 (home trespass) and some other sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Over 200 people had Thursday pelted stones at the house and cars of the employer of the minor girl. Later in the evening, they also protested at the place where the postmortem was held.
The body was still lying there as her relatives and the protesters refused to bury it until their demands were met.
“We want another postmortem of the victim to be conducted at AIIMS or PGIMS. We also demand immediate arrest of the accused and action under child labour law as victim was working there from the age of 13,” Ritu, counsel of “Gharelu Kaamgar Sangathan”, told IANS.
MNC senior executive Vijay Beri and his two married sons have been booked for rape and murder of the maid whose body was found hanging in the bathroom of the servants’ quarters Wednesday afternoon.
“We sent the vaginal swab of the deceased to forensic science laboratory (FSL), Madhuban, for examination and are waiting for the report,” the police said.
The postmortem report said the victim died from hanging and the sexual assault would only be confirmed from the FSL findings.
“We registered the case of rape and murder without waiting for the final report. The family of the deceased was satisfied with the action taken by police in the case. The parents were ready to accept the body for last rituals but some people were misguiding them for their own interests,” Assistant Commissioner of Police (DLF) Dalbir Singh told IANS.
